The dreadful countdown to Thanksgiving chaos is just days away, and whether traveling near or far, your commute is likely to be slowed by traffic.Thankfully, we’ve gone digging through Google Map analytics to help you find the best times to beat traffic this holiday season. THE WORST TIME TO LEAVE

By far, the busiest time to hit the road for Thanksgiving travel is the Wednesday before after 4 p.m. If you’re in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, or Portland, the time is the same. Get an early start if possible or …

THE BEST TIME TO LEAVE

To depart at the ideal time, which is laughably early, Google Maps says you should be on the road before 3 a.m. Leaving before dawn will just about guarantee you running into traffic on your commute, but you’re still likely to be fine long as you’re on the road before 4 p.m.

THE BEST TIME TO RETURN

If you’re not doing a weekend at your holiday destination, your best bet is getting back on the road early again. A 4 a.m. roll out
